Ultraviolet Disinfection
Ultraviolet (UV) systems provided by Expert Water Solutions offer simple, safe, effective,
and inexpensive disinfection of your family's water. We sell only the most advanced and most effective Sterilight ultraviolet water
filter systems. Unlike chemical disinfection, ultraviolet water purification systems create no potentially
harmful by-products and require no large tanks like ozone disinfection. With only yearly maintenance these UV water
filter systems save you time, space, and money while providing your family protection from bacteria, Cryptosporidium,
Giardia lamblia, Hepatitis Virus, Influenza Virus, Shigella dysenteriae, Legionella pneumophila, and Salmonella paratyphi.
In most cases UV water treatment kills 99.9999% of microorganisms in your water.
How does ultraviolet water disinfection work?

Water passes through the stainless
steel reactor that contains a powerful high output UV lamp. Upon entering the stainless
steel reactor any microbiological organism residing in the water is hit with a lethal dose of germicidal UV light effectively
breaking its DNA. Once the DNA of the microorganism is ruptured it is incapable of causing infection or reproducing. Once
disinfected the water exits the stainless steel reactor ready for use.
What makes our UV systems more effective than others
on the market?

UV water
filter systems provided by Expert Water Solutions feature a unique flow distributor. The colored lines in the image to
the left show the water's flow through the stainless steel reactor flowing from right to left. Prior to water exiting
the reactor the unique flow distributor diverts the flow closer to the UV bulb enabling the most effective delivery of powerful
germicidal UV energy to all microorganisms in the water. This unique flow distributor allows maximum effectiveness with less
need for pretreatment to remove other contaminants in the water.
Compare with other brands!

Without this unique flow distributor, water takes the shortest path through the reactor (dark blue lines) along
the reactor wall where the UV intensity is lower. When water takes the shortest path with low exposure to UV light, it
is more likely that microorganisms will be shadowed by surrounding impurities making them less vulnerable to
the UV water disinfection. Because of this, other systems without the unique flow distributor require pre-treatment
to first remove all other impurities before the UV system is effective.
